Ekaros

Ekaros was born in Budapest in 1986. Since the end of year 2000 - when he got his first music making software - music became a really important part of his life.

And since he's conscious of what music is, he's looking for the dark sounds. The endless world of reverbs and delays which is just the hotbed of murky atmospheric sounds, combined with the slow tempo and deep bass... what could be better to make horror music? Dubstep, in 2005 at its best form.

Ekaros found dubstep to be the best style to voice his feelings, but somehow his productions have never been dubstep in the usual sense of the word. Ekaros has tried to develop his compositional skills and create more musical, melodical songs still keeping though a dark experimental edge, his vision of electronic bass music.

During this proccess he started becoming bored of most electronic music and slowly stopped listening to it, but not making it! ;) From 2009 until now he has focused on classical music, and playing piano.

Eleni Adamopoulou is a musician living in Athens. Started studying classical music at the age of 12, and continued as a piano & flute player.

She has participated in classical choirs as a singer, performed with a woodwind band for 2 years, explored the jazz music with different bands, played as a keyboardist in many alternative indie bands, and finished her studies as a music teacher.

From 2007 till 2010 she has created 3 different solo music projects, under the names: Magnitophono, Manekinekod, and Giganta. Manekinekos are beckoning cats in Japan and are supposed to bring good luck to households and beckon guests to come in.

Matka

MATKA is Petr Rimsky, a musician born in totalitarian Czechoslovakia, where in his adolescence formed part of the underground scene being a member of hardcore punk bands.

After the fall of the communist regime he crosses the geographical and musical frontiers to explore western culture in USA, wherefrom he was expelled repeatedly until he finally finds his new base in Spain in the year 2000.

Here he begins to develop his most important musical project until now - Matka. His early works are mainly focused on the audio-visual creations, specially the common project with videoartist ID:Mora, where the subversive attitude of both artists is brought into next level thanks to the use of new technological tools.

Matka lives in a world of subbass, where the force and emotions take over all the protagonism and where the music exceeds its borders and is used rather as an emotional link. Thanks to the recent popularity of the genres such as dubstep, Matka found his place in a club scene. Last year he released his first EP "The Killers Playground" for Creative Space and is working on several projects destined to destroy the dancefloors and some neurotransmitters.

Ekelon

Ekelon is a prolific producer and sound engineer based in Athens Greece. He has been into the electronic music scene for over a decade with various guises and different, often very diverse, projects.

His involvement into to the dupstep scene originated in late 2007 after a chance meeting with british producer Headhunter which resulted in the creation of the collaboration track Timewarp. Timewarp soon became a dancefloor favourite and was later picked up by Mary Ann Hobes for her Evangelism compilation.

Following the success of Timewarp, Ekelon released his first Ep under the title Techrische in greek experimental label Creative Space. The complex textures of the Techrische beats and the hunting melodies established Ekelon as a leftfield experimentalist in electronic music that transcended the narrow boundaries of the dubstep genre.

His touch however with the dancefloor and party culture remained intact as proven by his third release. Holland's prestigious Tube 10 picked up on the hard pumping grooves of Evidence and presented it alongside the equally dancefloor driven Freezeland as a double sided 10" release in late 2009. The much acclaimed release became an instant favourite for many djs.

Following the success of Evidence, Ekelon's next release covered the middle ground between the experimental electronics of Techrische and the manic grooves of Evidence. The Asian Blades 12", was released by German label Police in Helicopters, is a hard hitting track with complex grooves, razor sharp cymbals and the trademark hunting melodies. This time the legendary Rob Smith is in charge of the b-side delivering his trademark sound on what was suitably named Bristol Blades.

Throughout the years Ekelon has remained a studio devotee. Unwilling to cash-in on cheep dj sets, he has appeared live on few, selected occasions and continues to consider live appearances as the only viable means to communicate with his audience.

Ollie Olsen

Ollie Olsen has been producing innovative music in Australia for the past twenty-five years.

He began studying electronic music in the mid 70's under Felix Werder, a German composer living in Australia who had studied under Karlheinz Stockhausen. In the late 70's Ollie formed one of the first electronic bands, Whirlywirld, releasing a number of recordings on Missing Link Records. During the next ten years Ollie formed experimental outfits Hugo Klang and Orchestra of Skin and Bone, then the hard-core industrial techno band, NO.

In the 1980s Ollie was invited to be the music producer for the movie "Dogs In Space". He provided much of the soundtrack himself, including writing the hit song Rooms For The Memory for INXS front man, and the movie's star, Michael Hutchence. After a brief collaboration with U2 on the single New York, New York by Echo Homo, Ollie was approached by Michael Hutchence to produce an album with him. The result was the successful and critically acclaimed MAX Q which spawned the hits Way Of the World and Sometimes. Ollie also worked at this time with legendary American producer Todd Terry and UK producer/DJ Paul Oakenfold.

From the success of MAX Q came a major record company deal and Ollie formed the band Third Eye. The group made one critically acclaimed album of songs before Ollie decided to concentrate on instrumental electronic music.

Besides producing, Ollie also lectures on electronic music and continues to compose for film and television. Recent film and television credits include acclaimed feature film "Head On" from director Anna Kokkinos (which earned him an AFI nomination), "RAW FM" and "Eugenie Sandler" for ABC TV. He often collaborates on interactive projects with Troy Innocent and worked on the electronic component of Australian composer Richard Mills' new opera, "Batavia", which received high praise from critics and audiences alike.

Starkey

PJ Geissinger aka Starkey is blessed with musical arrangement skills that would leave most composers green faced with envy. This combined with his high production ethic makes him a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philadelphia can create, his sound hits hard and is littered with bass and colourful audio frequencies. If you like grime, dubstep, hip hop and all things "street bass" then Starkey's hard edged spaced out crunk is the sound for you.

Starkey was selected by Vex'd as one of seven new DJs for Radio 1's MARY ANNE HOBBS' low end special "Generation Bass" and was the only non-UK DJ to be chosen. He was recently chosen to create a track in the space of 2 hours live on radio 1, the track received daytime radio play and was top of the reviews list across many channels.

Starkey is also co-owner of the Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey Record labels, a member of the Trouble & Bass Crew and works hardon releasing the freshest output from around the globe, this combined with his fortnightly radio show on Sub FM has positioned him as one of the tastemakers to emerge out of the bass heavy underground.

Recent remixes include Armand Van Helden, Gorilla Zoe, Uffie, Tempa T, Zomby, Inner Party System, The Constellations, Kano and The Foals to name a few!! With production on the cards/ pitched for Missy Elliot, MIA, Britney Spears, Fatima, Dizzee and more…

Move over Timbaland, Dre and Swizz beats, the future is set to be bright for Starkey!!
